FOOD TOURS OF ROME - STORY AND FACTS

I started Foods Tours of Rome in 2011 to help visitors and local residents find the ultimate food and cultural experience “off the beaten path“.

I began my research over 10 years ago while enjoying the delicious local foods and diverse theatre venues that existed within Campo de’ Fiori and Campo Marzio neighborhoods.

I strolled through these very neighborhoods searching for interesting foods and unique experiences.

It began with the first bite of soft sheep Cheese from Sardinia, then a Porchetta Sandwich with crispy slices of herbs- cured Pork meat stuffed into a freshly made bread from Genzano, and for dessert a fresh filled cannoli from Giolitti. Need I say more?

That experience and many others inspired me to create Rome’s finest food tasting and cultural walking tours that are now given in some of the most historic and beautiful areas of the Eternal City.

Foods Tours of Rome offers fun and delicious walking, food tasting, and discovery tours to people from around the world. I highlight “off the beaten path” mom and pop establishments that locals frequent and incorporate unique and delicious food tastings. Besides the great food, all attendees learn the history, culture, architecture, and entertainment offerings of a specific neighborhood.

My goal with Foods Tours of Rome is for everyone to return to these neighborhoods with confidence and take advantage of the wide range of food and cultural options that they offer. You will also learn how to have a hassle free night out in Rome – something many people never thought possible!

I am proud to share my knowledge and discoveries with you. Let me take you on a three hour journey that introduces you to our favorite neighborhoods, foods, and venues, while opening up a whole new world that is waiting to be explored.

Bruno started Food Tours of Rome in 2011 to provide the city's first combined experience of culinary and art tourism. After graduating in Economics with a master degree in Finance, he went back to school and took another university degree in Art and Roman History. As a professional Licensed Tour guide and Olive Oil Taster he travelled around Europe and is a great connoisseur of Italian food.
